Over the past couple of years as this brand has grown, the amount of fabric scraps we've accumulated has become insurmountable.  One of the most important aspects of our brand is our environmental consciousness. Having such a large amount of fabric scraps, meant we needed to find a responsible way of recycling, repurposing, or renewing them.

At the beginning of this year I found myself yearning for creativity. Last year was a whirlwind of trying to keep up. It was an extremely busy year full of stretching and growth (so thankful for that!) and when the new year began, I felt like some things needed to change. I came into the new year feeling a bit burnt out and like I needed some time to just have some fun and remember how much I love creating.

We combined our desire for imagination and need for repurposing our fabric scraps and created this Renewed Collection. These pieces are a little out of our typical wheelhouse, but in the best way! We created purposeful accessories, home accents, and a few wearable pieces.

The accessories are the perfect companion for daily life. Grab a scrunchie, throw your hair in a bun, and you're done. Going to the market? Running around town? The embroidered totes are made for carrying all of the things! Wallet, keys, market produce, books, scrunchies and bows, the list goes on. Made from the organic cotton twill from our first collection and the organic cotton denim from our SS18 collection, these bags will hold up to as much weight as you can handle carrying.

We also wanted to stay true to what we do best, womenswear. We decided to make a few wearable items by piecing together a few smaller “scraps”. We added visual interest by inverting the stripes on the tanks and dress. I love how playful, yet understated these styles came out. The subtle stripe variations add just enough variety without straying from our brand’s minimal aesthetic.

And lastly, we made a few home good items. Home, for me, is a safe haven. The items I bring into my home play an important role and hold a lot of weight. I only bring in items that serve a purpose, align with my home’s aesthetic, and/or have sentimental value. We created these pieces to add value to the refuge that is our home. Whether it’s a cloth hand towel to clean up a mess after preparing a meal or a pillow to lay your head on after a log day of work, these objects do not only fill and take up space, they fulfill a purpose. Intentionally bringing these items into a home adds value and fulfillment.

This collection helps bring life back to seemingly unusable fabric remnants. We are able to eliminate a problem of waste and use these small fabric pieces to make things that will add value to our lives. Once useless, these scraps are rebirthed into cherished artifacts.
