Give Thanks

Black Friday. Small Business Saturday. Cyber Monday.

This weekend, as we all know, is the biggest spending weekend of the year. We watch as brands and stores offer deep discounts and slash prices and we hurriedly buy gifts for everyone on our lists. This "tradition" instils a mindless consumption mentality that Two Fold is just not about.

Two Fold stands for more than buying just to buy. The pieces we make are meant to be worn for years to come and fill a void in one's wardrobe. The women wearing these pieces are buying these pieces intentionally with lots of thought behind their purchases.

But because you all have been so supportive this first year, I want to show my gratitude. I can not thank you all enough for your support and love. So here's what we've decided. Just as we have been doing all year, we will continue to send a portion of every sale to a community of women weavers in Karogoto, Kenya. With your purchases we are able to provide them with continuous income to help with the costs of their small business through 410Bridge

Beyond that, we are offering free shipping on all orders this weekend Thursday Nov. 23 through Monday Nov. 27. Use code: GIVETHANKS at checkout.

This time of year we are reminded to look at our lives and see the good and give thanks. You are the good. You're support is so appreciated and I can't thank you enough for joining me on this journey and shopping ethically.

Reese Woven Dress

The Reese Woven Dress

This dress is my favorite of the entire collection. With all of the same amazing design elements as the Reese top, the Reese dress is all that and more. It's the ultimate transitional piece from winter to spring - a knee length, easy, unfussy, slim fit accentuates the body without being too clingy. The comfiest thing you'll wear all season. I promise you'll never want to take it off.

We worked with talented local weaver to design the perfect fabric for the woven Reese top and dress. We decided on a slightly heavier weight cotton in a herringbone for the perfect coziness and softest hand. After selecting the fiber, colors, and pattern it is looped by hand, one thread at a time. Woven with a subtle herringbone pattern, this cotton fabric is incredibly soft and not too much drape for a better fitting shape. This fabric is beyond comfortable, and you may never want to take it off!

Reese Woven Top

The Reese Woven Top

The softest, comfiest top you will ever own. It's slightly open neckline shows just the right amount of skin for a flattering neckline. Made from a heavier weight, handwoven cotton. It's just the right amount of warmth in the chilly mornings and cool evenings and transitional months from winter to spring.

The Lois Coat

The Lois Coat

This mid-length wrap coat is the perfect medium weight with a little added structure to give it a modern feel. With a notched collar and belt to cinch in the waist. It has the perfect amount of femininity and class. Side seam pockets at the hip are large and inviting in the colder months and are hidden to keep the ladylike feel.

The Lois Coat is offered in a black and neutral Cotton Twill. I love the contrast of these two opposite colors. They each give a different feeling to an outfit. With the theme of the collection being "Shadow Play" I thought it only perfect to offer in stark contrasting colors, one being the light and warmth just a step outside the shadow and one being the darkness and comfort a shadow provides.

The other is a natural Cotton Twill. Cotton is one of the easiest fabrics to live in and care for. This fabric is sturdy and will stand the test of time . It's an excellent medium weight that wears well though all seasons, has a clean finish, and feels super soft on the skin. The natural color is perfectly imperfect in it's unbleached and undyed state and gives an earthy feel to an otherwise sophisticated look as compared to a stark bright white.  The strong black color is worthy of the unwavering strength it's known for. Black never goes out of style, and neither will this classic coat!

The Charlie Dress

The Charlie Dress

Oh, the Charlie Dress. There aren't enough words to describe the beauty this dress holds. It's simple in nature, falls beautifully, and instantly makes you feel pulled together. I designed this dress to be an everyday dress. Not too dressy, not too slouchy. It's easy and versatile. It's loose and flowy fit is both comfortable and flattering. Easily dressed up with a flattering pair of strappy heels or dressed down with a pair of sneakers and a jean jacket. Worn alone, it allows for the perfect rage of movement and motion. Or pair it over a wide leg pant (worn here with the Joni Pant) for more coverage and you're set for any setting.

This dress is offered in three amazing colors and two power-house fabrics. The marsh and black  Enzyme Washed Tencel is the perfect substitute for silk. Sometimes silk can feel too nice for an everyday dress, but you still want to feel pulled together and elegant. This dress in Tencel is just that. I chose this marsh green color because I loved it's subtlety. It's green, but can pass as a deep grey. It's quiet undertone screams maturity and innocence. It's earthy and elegant. The black is the perfect staple and can be worn with basically any coat, shoe, and accessory. Everyone needs a little black dress, and this one will definitely fit the bill.

And last, but certainly not least, is the dusty rose Raw Silk. Silk is one of the highest quality fibers. It's both environmentally conscious and great for the body. Can you believe it's completely non-toxic? That means that it never releases fiber into the environment. Sustainability at it's finest. It has a textured hand and wears similarly to cotton. This beautiful dusty rose is just the right amount of color needed to add a pop to any neutral capsule wardrobe. Pairs well with black, creams, tans, and browns. Super woman, if you ask me!
